How To Declutter Your Home in 15 Minutes
Decluttering your home can seem like a daunting and time-consuming chore, but it doesn’t have to be. We’ve broken down your household decluttering into 5 simple steps you can do in 15 minutes.
Kitchen

1. Throw out old or expired food from your fridge and pantry. Also throw out things you do not use.
2. If you have multiple wooden spoons or muffin trays but rarely use them, throw them out.
3. Put away any small appliances that you do not regularly use to clear your countertop.
4. Throw out all your Tupperware with missing lids.
5. Donate cookbooks you no longer use. If you only use one recipe in a book, consider scanning it and keeping it in a recipe binder.
Bathroom

1. Throw any dirty clothes and towels into your washing basket.
2. Throw away empty or expired toiletries.
3. Throw out expired or redundant medications.
4. Fill a bag with everything that belongs in another room, like jewellery or shoes.
5. Group similar products into baskets to put under the sink.
Bedroom

1. Clear the surface of your bedside table and leave only the items which you need and use.
2. Donate clothes which no longer fit or which you have not worn in the last year.
3. Throw out odd socks.
4. Use trays and bowls to store jewellery and knickknacks.
5. Fold or hang up clean clothes and put them away.
Living Room

1. Throw out old magazines.
2. Fill a basket with DVD’s and CD’s you no longer use and sell or donate them.
3. Put away anything which doesn’t belong in the room.
4. Throw out old mail.
5. Use a container to store your remotes, or replace them entirely by downloading an app to turn your smartphone into a remote.
Home Office

1. Recycle any documents you no longer need.
2. Throw away any pens and markers which no longer work.
3. Put your pens into a pen holder or an old jar.
4. Create a filing system with an expanding file folder.
5. Donate any books which you know you will not read again. Also donate any childrens books if your kids have outgrown them.
